Answer:

1. After pushing the computer's power on, press the F8 key repeatedly when you are on the first part of the computer startup. Possible display is the initialization, the memory, size, etc.

2. If successful on pressing F8, your screen display should be like this:

3. If not, you'll probably land on to the normal computer startup and you need to reboot/restart again.

You should not be seeing this on the display while aiming to go to safe mode:
